In a strategic move to enhance tourism insights,  global data solutions firm Data Appeal Company, has partnered with global digital payments leader Visa to provide comprehensive visitor spending data to Destination Management Organisations (DMOs).

According to a press statement by Data Appeal Company, this collaboration aims to support destinations by offering deeper insights into tourist behaviour, particularly focusing on visitor spending patterns across major global destinations.

As part of this initiative, Data Appeal Company says it has integrated a new Spending Module into its cutting-edge D/AI Destinations platform.

The module provides DMOs with aggregated and anonymised spending data, updated monthly, enabling them to better understand where tourists are allocating their resources across key categories such as hospitality, food, transportation, retail and entertainment.

The Spending Module utilises two years of historical spending data, allowing destinations to track trends, compare performance, and tailor their strategies based on tourist preferences.

By offering insights into categories, countries of origin, and Visa card types, destinations can now make data-driven decisions to optimise marketing campaigns, improve visitor experiences and allocate resources more efficiently.

“This agreement enhances our ability to help destinations understand and respond to visitor needs, allowing us to support DMOs in crafting tourism promotion strategies that are data-driven and impactful,” says Valeria Sandei, CEO, Almawave.
