U & I Holidays, a destination management company for Bali, based in Mumbai, recently organised the ninth edition of its Bali Roadshow in Delhi on January 21, following its launch in Kolkata.
“This year marks the 9th edition of our roadshow, and while we are continuing our tradition of traveling to multiple cities, we have made some changes to our approach. In the past, we typically visited six or seven cities, but this year we have streamlined it to four key cities: Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai,” says Ashish Indulkar, Director, U & I Holidays

“There is a significant difference in how we are engaging with the market. Apart from these four cities, we will be conducting workshops in 16 cities to spread awareness about Bali as a premier destination for tourists, spread throughout the entire year. This will allow us to connect with a wider audience, especially in smaller cities or regions that show potential for the Bali market. We will be starting down south in cities like Chennai and Kochi, then moving to places like Hyderabad, Pune, and Nagpur, and expanding across the rest of India,” he adds.
The event in Delhi featured 22 participants from Bali, including 11 representatives from luxury hotels and other premium offerings of Ubud, a town in the uplands of Bali.
According to the Director of U&I Holidays, Bali saw a significant surge in tourism in 2024, and the roadshow is designed to further boost this growth. The event primarily focused on luxury experiences and offerings, highlighting Bali’s appeal to the high-end Indian market.
“In 2024, approximately 600,000 Indian tourists visited Bali, a significant increase from the 500,000 who travelled there in 2023. To put this into perspective, pre-pandemic numbers were under 400,000, so the recent surge is remarkable,” says Indulkar.
“Despite the fact that direct flights to Bali from Indian cities only began around 7-8 months ago, with routes from Delhi and Bangalore, this growth is impressive. While the number of direct connections is still limited, considering the size of India’s population and the scale of its tourism, 600,000 visitors is a substantial figure for Bali. This growth highlights the growing appeal of Bali as a destination for Indian travellers,” he adds.
The roadshow was attended by about 80 Indian tour operators and industry stakeholders, with B2B meetings aimed at positioning Bali as the premier destination for Indian travellers.
