The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced that Troy Haas, CEO of Brownell, has joined the organisation as its newest member.

Troy Haas, CEO of Brownell, has joined the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) as its newest member. With a legacy of innovation in luxury travel, aiming to advance sustainability and excellence in the travel and tourism industry.

In a press statement, WTTC says that Haas’ decades of experience in luxury travel will strengthen its vision for a sustainable and thriving global tourism industry.

It adds that Brownell, has thrived under Haas’ leadership, achieving USD 200 million in sales in 2023 and ranking among the top US travel agencies by Condé Nast Traveller and Travel Weekly.

WTTC says that since joining Brownell in 1993, Haas has transformed the 100-year-old agency into a leader in luxury travel, fostering a strong advisor community and setting industry standards.

“Haas carries forward the pioneering spirit that began with Walter Brownell nearly 140 years ago. His experience and leadership will be invaluable to WTTC as we continue shaping the future of Travel & Tourism,” says Julia Simpson, President & CEO, WTTC.
