The competition will see 140 professional riders competing for the green jersey

Slovenia’s biggest cycling event, ‘Tour of Slovenia’, will take place from June 4 to 8, with a revised schedule. The race covers diverse terrains and draws top cyclists from around the world. This year’s edition features multiple stages across the country, testing riders on various routes. The event continues to grow as a key fixture in international cycling.

In a press statement, Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) says that the event aims to enhance international exposure and attract a larger audience, bolstered by a continued partnership with the STB and Eurosport, a leading sports television channel in Europe. It adds that since 2016, the race has reached 63.5 million viewers across 130 countries through Eurosport’s broadcasts.

The statement adds that the 31st edition of the event will feature five stages, covering diverse terrain from Slovenia’s coastal regions to the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.

It adds that more than 20 domestic and international teams will participate, including top-ranked cyclists such as Tadej Pogačar and Primož Roglič. STB says that the competition will see 140 professional riders competing for the green jersey.

The statement adds that  STB continues to integrate sports tourism with sustainability, using the ‘Tour of Slovenia’ as a platform to promote cycling infrastructure and green mobility.

It adds that the event’s media coverage includes promotional videos and over 220 advertisements under the I Feel Slovenia campaign.

According to the statement, the race will pass through ten host destinations, starting in Piran and concluding in Novo mesto. The route includes Škofljica, Velenje, Celje, Rogaška Slatina, Majšperk, Ormož, Maribor, and a mountain finish at Golte.

It adds that the final stage will determine the overall winner in Novo Mesto, a city with deep cycling roots.
