India’s outbound tourism market to reach 55.4 billion by 2034: THRS
Aiming to enhance its brand presence, Indian-based hospitality firm Travel and Hospitality Representation Services (THRS) has announced expansion into Japan and Azerbaijan, bagging deals for representation in India.
In a press statement, THRS announced that, as part of fostering strategic partnerships, it has been appointed as the exclusive sales representative for Fauchon l’Hotel Kyoto in Japan and Start Travel in Azerbaijan.
It adds that Fauchon is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW). Located in Kyoto, this hotel aims to integrate Parisian gourmet elements with Japanese cultural heritage, hence pioneering the ‘Kyo-French’ cuisine.
“India represents a key strategic market with its growing demand for fine gastronomy and cultural immersion. Our partnership with THRS will strengthen our engagement with Indian travellers and introduce them to Fauchon l’Hôtel Kyoto’s refined hospitality,” says Nobu Sugimura, General Manager, Fauchon l’Hôtel, Kyoto.
Additionally, as per press statement, THRS says that an Azerbaijan based travel management company Star travel provides inbound and outbound tourism services across Azerbaijan, Georgia and Uzbekistan. Since its inception in 2015, the company has offered travel solutions, including ticketing, hotel reservations, visa facilitation, MICE services and curated cultural experiences.
“With India’s growing interest in immersive and customised travel, our collaboration with THRS will drive increased awareness of Azerbaijan’s rich history, vibrant cuisine, and distinctive hospitality. We look forward to elevating the travel experience for Indian visitors,” says Nadir Farajov, Commercial Director, Start Travel.
Meanwhile, THRS says that India’s outbound tourism market was projected to reach approximately USD 18.8 billion in 2024, with an expected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.4 pc, reaching USD 55.4 billion by 2034. The expansion into Japan and Azerbaijan aligns with the increasing interest among Indian travellers in culturally immersive experiences.
