Thomas Cook says that both prepaid forex cards will now be available across Muthoot’s network of over 7,000 branches
Thomas Cook India, the country’s largest bricks and mortar travel firm, with omnichannel forex services, has formed a strategic partnership with Muthoot Forex, foreign exchange division of Muthoot Group, a leading Non Banking Finance Company, to expand the reach of its Borderless Travel and Study Buddy Cards.
In a statement, Thomas Cook says that through this collaboration, both prepaid forex cards will now be available across Muthoot’s network of over 7,000 branches, including 43 full-fledged forex branches across India’s metros, mini-metros and Tier II, Tier III and Tier IV source markets.
The statement adds that the pre-paid Borderless Travel Card supports 12 global currencies and has access to over 70 million Mastercard and Visa merchant establishments in over 200 countries. It also provides free emergency cash assistance and card replacement, for lost or stolen cards, and complimentary international global SIM card.
According to the statement, the card is secure with embedded chip and PIN security and features a complimentary insurance cover up to INR 750,000. The service also provides 25 pc discount on select attractions and unique experiences and an opportunity to earn 1,000 Thomas Cook Edge Reward Points on loading USD 1,000, or equivalent in other currencies, and up to 500 points on card spend, redeemable for holidays, flights and hotels from Thomas Cook India.

The Study Buddy Card is curated for Indian students studying abroad. It includes a free International Student Identity Card (ISIC) and a free global SIM card. Cardholders can also enjoy one free ATM withdrawal per month and surcharge-free withdrawals at All Point ATMs in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and Australia. The card also features zero mark-up on transactions in the base currency, making spending more economical. To ensure safety, it provides comprehensive fraud protection insurance and 24×7 customer support, adds the statement.
