According to a press statement by TAAI, Kumar secured 306 votes, comfortably beating the two other contenders for the top position at TAAI

Sunil Kumar, Co-Founder and Commercial Head at AirRetailer, has been elected President of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) for the 2024-26 term, with Lokesh Bettaiah as Vice President. The elections followed TAAI's 73rd AGM.

India’s largest and oldest travel trade association, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) sees a new team at the helm after Sunil Kumar, Co-Founder and Commercial Head, AirRetailer, was elected as President for the 2024-26 term, with a comfortable margin in elections held on Monday in Mumbai.

According to a press statement by TAAI, Kumar secured 306 votes, comfortably beating the two other contenders for the top position at TAAI. While Harmandeep Singh Anand, Managing Director, Jagsons Travels, obtained 286 votes, two-term President Jyoti Mayal was third with 177 votes.

The statement adds that in the elections, Lokesh Bettaiah was elected Vice President of TAAI, Shreeram Patel was elected Honorary Secretary, and Paras Lakhia Honorary Treasurer.

The other members of the new Managing Committee include P Lalith Kumar Jain, Hema RV Chander, Sameer Karnani, Rajan Sehgal, Manav Soni, Gopal Unadkat and Amish Desai, says TAAI.

The statement adds that the elections for the national office-bearers and Managing Committee was held after concluding the 73rd AGM of the oldest and largest association of the travel agent fraternity in India.
