Changi Airport's Hello Kitty Festive Wonderland celebration promises giant displays, interactive activities & Changi’s debut water park
In celebration of Japanese fictional character Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, Singapore Changi Airport has launched its annual Changi Festive Village with Hello Kitty themes.
In a press statement, Changi airport says that the festival, which is now on till February 16, 2025, is the fifth edition of the Festive Village and brings Japanese company Sanrio’s beloved Hello Kitty and friends into an immersive festive wonderland at Terminal 3.
It says that this year’s celebration promises to appeal to travellers with giant displays, interactive activities and Changi’s debut water park, Cosmic HydroPark.
“Sanrio’s iconic characters, such as Hello Kitty, have transcended generations, endearing themselves to both the young and the young-at-heart. We are delighted to bring these beloved figures to life at Changi Airport, offering a nostalgic journey for long-time fans and an exciting introduction for newcomers. This vibrant celebration reinforces our commitment in creating immersive and memorable experiences for all visitors to Changi Airport,” says Ang Siew Min, Senior Vice President, Airport Operations Services at Changi Airport Group.
The statement adds that the Hello Kitty Festive Wonderland in Terminal 3, showcases an 8-meter-tall Hello Kitty topiary surrounded by life-sized displays of Sanrio characters, including Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin and My Melody.
It adds that visitors can enjoy a 7-meter-long rainbow slide and take part in meet-and-greet sessions with Sanrio characters on weekends.
The airport says that with every USD 50 spent in participating retail and food and beverage outlets, travellers can reserve a meet-and-greet pass on the Changi app. Daily snow shows add to the winter wonderland ambiance, making each visit unique and memorable.
Across the airport, visitors can spot Hello Kitty characters in various themed displays, including Hello Kitty in a rickshaw and Pompompurin on a spinning ride, with these setups creating perfect photo opportunities.
According to the airport authority, in addition to T3 the Arrival Hall has been transformed into a Sanrio-themed carnival with nine character zones, offering games, rides, and collectible prizes.
Popular attractions include the 50th Celebration Grand Express and various DIY workshops where passengers can craft personalised Sanrio keepsakes.

The statement adds that the Festive Village has introduced Cosmic HydroPark at Terminal 3, Changi’s first-ever inflatable water park. The Cosmic HydroPark includes an obstacle course, giant slides, and a kiddy pool with the idea to offer something for everyone.
AstroMart, the on-site shop, offers waterproof pouches, water guns and Dri-fit apparel for visitors to gear up and enjoy the park fully.
Shoppers can browse Sanrio merchandise at pop-up stores in the departure halls and take advantage of exclusive promotions.
Passengers who spend a minimum of USD 60 in one transaction are eligible to buy limited-edition Hello Kitty premiums, such as themed hand warmers and luggage.
Collectors can also unlock exclusive items through the Changi Rewards programme, earning points and prizes by visiting different locations within the airport.
The statement adds that Changi Rewards members can enjoy discounts, prizes, and up to USD 20 off their purchases. From November to January, the Space APPxplorer experience on the Changi app also offers chances to win prizes, including up to one million Changi Rewards points.
