Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to headline the grand opening of City of Dreams Sri Lanka, the first luxury integrated resort in South Asia, on August 2.

In a press statement, City of Dreams Sri Lanka says that the much-anticipated event, accessible by invitation only, is expected to be the most glamorous affair of the year, marking a new chapter in Colombo’s hospitality and entertainment landscape.

The statement adds that popularly known as ‘King Khan’, the multi-award-winning actor’s presence underscores the significance of the project, a collaboration between John Keells Holdings and Melco Resorts & Entertainment.

City of Dreams Sri Lanka says that the resort, located in the heart of Colombo, is an architectural marvel spanning, designed by internationally acclaimed architect Cecil Balmond.

According to the statement, the opening will also introduce the Let’s Go, Let Go campaign, inviting guests to embrace a new era of luxury and entertainment.

It adds that City of Dreams Sri Lanka promises an unmatched experience with over 800 luxury hotel rooms, rejuvenating wellness retreats, premium retail outlets and globally inspired dining, all set against sweeping views of the Indian Ocean and Colombo’s vibrant skyline.

Additionally, a highlight of the resort is its world-class casino, operated by Melco Resorts and the debut of Nuwa, Melco’s luxury hotel brand, further elevating Colombo’s status as a premier destination. The resort also boasts the largest and most sophisticated meeting and event spaces in the region, including cantilevered ballrooms adorned with curated Sri Lankan art.
