The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fincantieri, a global company in the maritime sector, to support the development and management of coastal tourism in the country.

To enhance management and sustainability in marine tourism activities, Saudi Arabia’s government’s entity Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Italian marine services firm Fincantieri, for the development and management of coastal tourism in the country.

In a press statement, SRSA says that the agreement was signed in Riyadh by Mohammed Al-Nasser, CEO of SRSA, and Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and Managing Director of Fincantieri.

It adds that the MoU supports its mandate to regulate coastal activities, protect marine environments, and apply international practices. Additionally, the collaboration focuses on sustainable tourism, infrastructure development, maritime safety, and marine technology innovation.

As per the statement, the agreement includes cooperation in marina regulation, preservation of marine ecosystems, and exchange of knowledge in advanced maritime operations.

Further, the government entity notes that this step reflects its commitment to accelerating progress through strong partnerships with both public and private sectors, locally and globally.

The SRSA says that it aims to expand strategic alliances, share expertise, and apply global practices that promote regenerative tourism, sustainable growth, and the position Red Sea as a premier international destination while preserving its untouched environment.
