Saint Petersburg Tourism says that in 2023, the city welcomed 9.4 million visitors

In order to enhance its share of Indian tourists, Russian port city of Saint Petersburg is participating in the ongoing BLTM 2024 International Exhibition in New Delhi to present its varied offerings.

Presenting its varied tourism experiences, Saint Petersburg is engaging with the Indian travel trade partners at the ongoing BLTM 2024 in New Delhi. 

In a press statement, Saint Petersburg Tourism says that in 2023, the city welcomed 9.4 million visitors. Russia’s northern capital attracts both domestic and international tourists every year.

Saint Petersburg is the second-largest industrial, scientific, cultural, and business centre in Russia. The city is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, and its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The tourism board highlights the numerous palaces and canals, the richness of its museums and vibrant cultural life of Saint Petersburg. 

The board says that the list of St Petersburg’s attractions is constantly expanding, including new additions from the ‘New Tourist Geography,’ modern creative spaces that are highly popular among the city’s residents.

In addition to cultural and educational programmes, St. Petersburg is actively developing unique types of tourism. Today, tourists can embark on an unusual industrial site tour, spend a weekend at a wellness resort, or even organize a wedding getaway in the romantic atmosphere of the city on the Neva, it says.

Saint Petersburg can be the perfect starting point for a journey through Russia. For instance, the “Two Cities – A Million Impressions” project allows tourists to combine visits to Saint Petersburg and Moscow in one trip. Within the routes of the “Silver Necklace of Russia,” visitors can explore the rich history and culture of the Russian North.

The tourism board adds that in Saint Petersburg, great emphasis is placed on service. The city has 1,200 hotels offering a wide range of star ratings, comfort levels and pricing policies. 

The statement adds that for event organisers, the city offers unique exhibition and congress venues, hotels of various formats and categories, developed transportation networks, and numerous excursion programmes. 

Every year, Russia’s northern capital hosts hundreds of business forums of various scales. St Petersburg also has extensive experience in hosting international rotating events.
