The appointment reflects its long-term commitment to high-growth markets in South Asia
In a move to strengthen its footprint in India’s outbound travel market, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has named Vishal Bhatia as its new India Market Director.
The appointment signals the emirate’s sharpened focus on India, one of its top five source markets, as it looks to boost arrivals and enhance destination appeal.
In a press statement RAKTDA says that Bhatia will be based in Mumbai and lead its operations and strategy in India, overseeing efforts to position Ras Al Khaimah as a preferred destination for Indian travellers.

It adds that his mandate includes strengthening trade relationships and accelerating tourism growth from India.
The statement adds that with over two decades of experience in the travel and tourism sector, Bhatia previously served as Country Manager at VisitBritain. In that role, he shaped tourism strategies, executed market campaigns, and built partnerships aimed at boosting the United Kingdom’s visibility in India.

It adds that the appointment reflects its long-term commitment to high-growth markets in South Asia. The authority cited rising demand from India, supported by better air connectivity, increased hospitality offerings, and visa-on-arrival for Indian passport holders.
