To celebrate International Women’s Day, Qatar Tourism Board  has curated a special promotion with a vast range of different activities and attractions to choose from, especially designed for women travellers. The activities include solo travel or an all-girls trip. With stunning scenery, good food, museums, spas, architectural wonders, and much more, says Qatar Tourism Board in a press statement. The board says the five-time winner of the title of safest country makes for an excellent holiday destination for women.

Qatar features a dynamic topography, old lanes set against a contemporary skyline, and an ever-changing landscape, adds the statement.

Modern wellness resorts in the location unlock a whole new level of wellbeing. Be it the Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som, the first fully immersive wellness resort in the Middle East that offers therapies based on traditional Arabic & Islamic medicine & wellness principles, or the Al-Messila, a luxurious oasis that offers a new perspective on holistic well-being and sensual awakening with its minimalistic yet luxurious setting.

The statement  adds that visitors can delve into a plethora of delicacies in the nation that is home to people from over 100 countries, making it a melting pot of cultures and cuisines. A variety of local culinary options are available in addition to fine dining establishments by renowned Michelin chefs like Alain Ducasse and Pino Lavarra, to mention a few.

Visitors can also indulge in authentic cuisines at restaurants like Nobu, which serves delectable Japanese and continental cuisine, La-Spiga for Italian food, or Jiwan for a well-rounded modern Qatari dining experience.

The board adds that Qatar, a peninsula country known as the “land of epic adventures,” has the perfect blend of beach, sea, and sun activities. Tourists can go dune bashing, unwind in a tent, or visit Khor Al Adaid, a UNESCO-recognised location where the sea is advancing into the desert.

Some of the most popular adventure activities include hot air balloon rides, paragliding, and skydiving. The 560 kilometres of coastline in Qatar is home to numerous public and private beaches, crystal-clear waters, and an abundance of marine life that is perfect for female tourists, says  the statement. Among the prominent beaches include Fuwairit Kite Beach, Zekreet Beach, Al Safliya Island, and more.

The press release highlights some distinctive museums and public art displays in Qatar that are reminiscent of the nation’s pride in its artistic endeavours. The National Museum of Qatar created by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel NMoQ draws attention to its desert rose inspired architecture. Another stunning piece of architecture is the Museum of Islamic Arts, also referred to as the museum capital of Qatar.

Additionally, there are many public art installations such as the Miraculous Journey at Sidra Medical and Research Centre, which showcases the wonder of the extraordinary process of a foetus’ development, and the Force of Nature II, a bronze sculpture by Lorenzo Quinn that portrays Mother Nature as a woman hurling the planet around in circles.

And last but not the least, says the board, Qatar promises an unparalleled shopping experience ranging from high-end brands to street-style local markets. The location is a great fit for every type of traveller because it offers the ideal balance of activities in the sun, sea, and sand.
