International cruiseline operator Princess Cruises is set to debut its largest cruise ever in the United States, in October 2024. In a press statement, Princess Cruises says that its latest ship, Sun Princess, is the first in the line’s new Sphere Class and will homeport at Port Everglades for the winter, following a season of Mediterranean and Europe cruises when it launches in February 2024.
The cruise company says that Sun Princess is focused on providing the ultimate vacations to Caribbean destinations on 7-day and 14-day itineraries from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The company says that for passengers to fully enjoy everything that Sun Princess has to offer, including captivating entertainment in picturesque venues, spacious relaxation areas with breathtaking views, and the line’s largest-ever casino. It adds that the Caribbean voyages aboard Sun Princess are meant to offer the ideal balance between incredible Caribbean islands and peaceful days at sea.

The statement adds that the 175,500-tonne Sun Princess, with a capacity to carry 4,300 guests will offer a vast spectrum of culinary options, entertainment and luxurious staterooms. The giant cruise will let guests experience abundant sunshine and crystal clear waters of the Caribbean from the comfort of their cabin. It says that the Dome, a ‘transformational’ entertainment venue inspired by the terraces of Santorini, is the perfect place to relax and the three-storeyed Horizons Dining Room is sure to have everyone talking. Sun Princess will also feature the exclusive Princess Medallion that will extend Princess’ leadership position in delivering exceptional personalised experiences typical of small ships while enjoying only the best large ship amenities, adds the statement.
