Philippines has introduced a 14-day visa-free entry scheme for Indian nationals, effective immediately.

In a press statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) of the South East Asian nation says that under the new policy, Indian citizens can now travel to the Philippines for tourism without the need for a visa, provided their stay does not exceed 14 days.

The statement adds that this facility is accessible at all major entry points, including international airports, seaports and cruise terminals across the country.

DFA says that this visa-free admission is strictly non-extendable and cannot be converted into any other visa category. Furthermore, visitors must not have any derogatory records with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration.

The statement adds that Indian nationals transiting through the Philippines to other countries are still required to secure a transit visa if necessary.

According to the statement, to be eligible for this visa-free entry, Indian travellers must present a passport valid for at least six months beyond their intended stay, proof of confirmed hotel accommodation, evidence of financial capacity such as a bank statement or certificate of employment, and a return or onward ticket to their next destination.
