“Nepal’s strategic position between two of the world’s largest outbound markets, China and India, creates unique opportunities for sub-regional tourism cooperation,” says Hamid.
“By fostering closer ties and joint initiatives, destinations in this region can unlock new visitor flows, develop shared tourism products, and build a more resilient and sustainable industry,” he adds.
“On behalf of the Nepal Tourism Board, we extend our sincere appreciation to PATA for endorsing NICE 2025 and sharing a thought-provoking presentation,” says Joshi.

This collaboration plays a crucial role in advancing sustainable growth and fostering cross-border partnerships that will shape the future of our tourism industry,” he adds.
PATA says that the expo, which took place from February 24 to 26, marked a significant milestone as the first tri-nation tourism event aimed at enhancing partnerships across Nepal, India and China.
The statement adds that NICE 2025 attracted over 600 delegates from 14 countries, featuring more than 100 international participants, and the event was co-hosted by the PATA Nepal Chapter, the Nepal Tourism Board, and various public and private stakeholders.
According to the press statement, in his keynote address, Hamid emphasised the potential of Nepal’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector as a catalyst for broader tourism growth.
PATA says that the expo also included discussions on regional tourism trends such as China’s outbound market and wellness tourism.
The statement adds that a B2B Expo facilitated over 2,100 pre-matched business appointments between buyers from India and China and sellers from Nepal.
Additionally, this initiative underscores Nepal’s emerging role as a sub-regional tourism hub and its dedication to fostering cross-border collaboration for sustainable growth.
