In the run-up to this summer’s sporting event, Paris Olympics, French theme park Parc Astérix says it will be celebrating its 35th anniversary with some extraordinary new attractions.

Parc Astérix is a theme park in France based on the comic book series Asterix by Albert Uderzo and René Goscinny. It is located 35 km from Paris, in the heart of the Oise Regional Nature Park.

In a press statement, Parc Astérix says that its ‘Gallic Summer’ features a special daily programme starting July 13 to August 31 from 10:00 to 22:00, including dinner with the characters themselves during the Gallic Banquet, as well as many shows.

The park says it will showcase more than 50 attractions and shows to curate a unique experience combining entertainment and adventure. The park offers three themed hotels that immerse visitors in the world of Astérix, including the Hôtel des Trois Hiboux and La Cité Suspendue on Quais de Lutèce, crowned the world’s best themed hotel in 2020.

Parc Astérix was crowned European Park of the Year in 2023, when it also received over 2.8 million visitors, making it the 2nd most visited park in France behind Disneyland Paris and the 8th most visited park in Europe.

The statement adds that Parc Astérix will present immersive visitor experiences in the universe of the renowned Asterix the Gaul and the world-famous comic strip.

Established by Albert Uderzo in 1989, the park says it provides a family-friendly setting and attractions, along with reenactments of the well-known figures Asterix and Obelix and the Village Gaulois, also known as Gaul Village.

The statement says that Parc Astérix provides has more than 50 family attractions and shows, from its unmissable “Big 8” roller coasters to its many water rides.

It says that visitors can explore the skies aboard Oziris, or even be transported to Ancient Greece on the Pégase Express, or the Festival Toutatis area, home to Toutatis roller coaster, one of Europe’s best attractions.

To celebrate its 35th anniversary, Parc Astérix will present a number of new attractions to provide experiences like C’est du Délire ! The very first Gaul musical, La Tour de Numérobis star flyer, La Revanche des Pirates – Grand Splatch log flume, and Le Défilé Gaulois parade and its five floats, led by Asterix himself.
