The fair will run until May 5 and will be open to visitors from 09:00 to 17:30 everyday
Over 3 million tulips of 300 varieties in full bloom will be display from April 22 when the 2025 Tonami Tulip Fair opens at Tonami Tulip Park in Tonami, a city in Toyama Prefecture in western Japan, about 450 km from capital Tokyo.
According to a press statement issued by Toyama Prefecture, after its inauguration on Tuesday, the fair will run until May 5 and will be open to visitors from 09:00 to 17:30 everyday.
On display will be over 300 varieties of tulips that were collected for the fair, including the popular “Flower Otani” that is 4 m high and 30 m long.
The statement adds that at the fair, visitors must also see the ‘Tulip Tower’ and ‘Tulip Skywalk’. It adds that the fair has several other highlights including the ‘Coloured Garden’, the ‘Dutch Flower Bed’, the ‘Komorebi Garden’, and the ‘Circular Flower Bed’. It says that visitors can also enjoy the fluffy dome that is popular with children.

According to Toyama Prefecture, during the period of the fair, those holding fair tickets can also gain entrance to other facilities within the venue such as Tonami Tulip Gallery, Tonami Art Museum, Tonami Provincial Museum, the Old Nakashima House and the Tonami Culture Hall.
At the fair, visitors can buy several souvenirs that are derived from tulips or depict them. A vast variety of culinary options is available at restaurants and food trucks in the fair area, including some dishes made with tulips.

The statement adds that the standard ticket for the fair is JPY 1500 (USD 11) per adult and for groups of 20 persons or more, the tariff per person is JPY 1400.
During the Fair period, free shuttle buses will connect the Tonami Tulip Park with JR Tonami Station and with other Fair venues in the vicinity, says the prefecture.
