Oman Tourism holds two-city sales mission

Sales mission and training workshops were held in Jaipur and Lucknow, respectively, which was attended by 35 outbound travel agents each

Going beyond the metros, Oman Tourism organised workshops for training tour operators as part of its sales missions in key tier II markets of Jaipur and Lucknow to showcase signature experiences to be promoted in the Sultanate of Oman.

Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of the Sultanate of Oman organised sales missions in Jaipur as well as Lucknow to educate local travel sector about Oman’s suitability as a travel destination. The aim was to inform the Indian travel industry that Oman was a colourful destination, inform the industry about the updates of the destination so that existing itineraries and packages can be updated, continue key account management with agents in Oman and find new prospects for Oman product sales, and diversify Oman product offerings for our main target segments.

Sales mission and training workshops were held in Jaipur and Lucknow, respectively, which was attended by 35 outbound travel agents each. Those agents with a history of high volumes to Oman were invited to the Sales Mission and training workshop in the two cities. Romantic getaway agents, family holiday agents, couple getaway agents, and luxury agents were invited to an interactive networking lunch and dinner in Jaipur and Lucknow, respectively.

On November 15, 35 key outbound travel agents from Jaipur were invited for the networking sales event. Representatives from Salam Air, which has direct connectivity between Muscat and Jaipur, were present at the event as well. Later, Mayank Maheswari from Rainbow Vacation, Jaipur, sharing about his experience he had at the FAM trip early in November, said that the trade was positive with the feedback.

On November 17, 35 trade partners from Lucknow were invited for a sales mission which kicked off with an introduction and destination presentation, followed by networking dinner to discuss various aspects of Oman.

Two airline partners—Oman Air and Salam Air—were invited to the event. The event ended with a small lucky draw where two trade partners got tickets from Salam Air. Later, trade partner S M S Sheeraz from Sheeraz Tours of Lucknow, sharing his feedback about Oman, encouraged other trade partners to sell more of the destination as a leisure, MICE, and wedding destination.

Sales visits were conducted to the trade partners offices prior to the events to discuss market trends and invite them for the networking sales event in both the cities.

MHT India office highlighted many signature experiences to be promoted in the Sultanate of Oman. It helped premium and medium-sized markets develop a high brand awareness and a perception of Oman as an interesting nation. Focusing on re-calibrated Oman Tourism is meant to re-establish confidence and encourage people to travel to Oman and experience the wonderful destination.
