A group of chiefs of six Indian travel firms, along with officials of Air India were recently hosted by Oman Tourism for a familiarisation trip to the Gulf nation. The visit was mounted by the Omani Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and involved various activities to understand the product and how they could customise it for their Indian clients.
According to a press statement, the group visited various locations in and around Muscat, such as Chedi site, Birkat Al Mouz, Nizwa Souq, and Wadi Bani Khalid. They also visited some leading hotels in Oman such as Jebel Akhdar, W Hotel and Desert Rose. The CEOs also got to sample Indian cuisine in Oman, especially the breakfast buffet at Anantara Al Jabal Akhdar. The group also participated in local cultural events and culinary tours.
The press statement adds that the travel agents were happy with the visit and the facilities that the country offers to visitors. For instance, Guldeep Sahni of Weldon Tours and Travels thanked the ministry of tourism and as well as the Sultanate of Oman and added that it was a delight to visit the country. “Truly a breathtaking encounter with Oman! Thank you, Ministry of Tourism, Sultanate of Oman. We experienced everything in such a short amount of time since it was prepared so effectively,” added Sriharan Balan of Madura Group, another travel agent.
