Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has invited young tourism professionals from Asia Pacific to apply for the 2025 Face of the Future award, celebrating leadership and innovation in sustainable tourism with mentorship, global exposure and industry opportunities.

Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has officially opened submissions for its PATA Face of the Future 2025 award, inviting outstanding young tourism professionals across the Asia Pacific region to apply by June 15.

In a press statement, PATA says that since its inception in 2002, this award has recognised rising stars who exemplify leadership, innovation and a commitment to sustainable tourism-core values aligned with the mission of PATA to advance the travel industry of the region.

“As an organisation committed to empowering the next generation of visionaries, PATA is thrilled to launch this year’s search for the Face of the Future. We celebrate young leaders who bring bold ideas, creative solutions and a deep commitment to building a more sustainable future for travel and tourism. We look forward to discovering the next young leader who will inspire their peers and contribute to shaping the future of our industry,” says Noor Ahmad Hamid, CEO, PATA.

The statement adds that the 2025 winner will receive a comprehensive package of opportunities, including full sponsorship to attend and be honoured at PATA Travel Mart 2025, a speaking slot at the PATA Youth Symposium and a seat on the PATA Board to represent the voice of young professionals.

The statement says that additional benefits include global media exposure through PATA’s channels, mentorship opportunities, use of the PATA Face of the Future brand identity and a dedicated feature on the PATA Blog.

PATA cites the example of Jane Park, Assistant Manager, F&B Revenue Management & Operations at Hotel ICON, who was named Face of the Future 2024.

The associatIon says that that Park’s innovative leadership and dedication to service excellence have set a benchmark for aspiring professionals in the tourism sector.

Moreover, in 2024, PATA also recognised Amine Gabbouj, Coordinator of the IGLTA Foundation, with the Sustainability Initiatives Award for his advocacy of LGBTQ+ tourism and Karnchana Phakpho, Chairperson at Bangkok University, for her leadership in tourism education and environmental preservation.
