As ocean travel continues to grow, major players in the cruise industry are preparing to unveil a new slate of distinct ships in 2025, offering luxurious escapes and thrilling adventures on the high seas.

After a remarkable year of new launches and exciting itineraries in 2024, the cruise industry shows no signs of slowing down in 2025. Several major cruise lines are set to debut new ships, each embarking on their maiden voyages next year.

These new vessels are designed to meet the rising demand for ocean travel, with passenger numbers expected to reach 37.1 million in 2025, up from 34.7 million this year, according to the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).

From luxurious escapes to thrilling theme park experiences, here are some of the must experience sea adventures on the horizon for 2025.

Disney Cruise Line: Disney Destiny

Maiden Voyage: November 20, 2025

Disney Destiny is to begin sailing in November, 2025

Disney Cruise Line is preparing to launch its newest ship, the Disney Destiny, in November 2025. The vessel will primarily sail from Fort Lauderdale in Florida.

With room for 4,000 passengers, Disney Destiny will feature the most theme-park-like experience ever seen at sea, featuring seven uniquely themed areas based on Disney, Pixar, and Marvel worlds.

Guests can enjoy new attractions like Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, Marvel’s Spider-Man on the stern, and art of Minnie Mouse on the bow. The ship will also feature an infinity pool for guests to relax and enjoy the views.

Maiden Voyage: December 15, 2025

Disney Cruise Line reveals the Disney Adventure to set sail from Singapore

Disney Adventure, the first Disney ship to be based in Asia, currently under construction, will commence sailing from December 15, 2025, from its home port in Singapore. Disney Cruise Line is targetting India as one of the principal source markets for Disney Adventure.

The ship boasts seven uniquely themed areas including Disney Imagination Garden, Toy Story Place, San Fransokyo Street, Town Square, Wayfinder Bay, Disney Discovery Reef and Marvel Landing.

Additionally, Disney Adventure features the cruise line’s signature dining concept, rotational dining, offering three distinct experiences with a pre-set schedule included in each booking and the same dedicated service team assigned to guests’ dining party throughout the voyage.

Norwegian Cruise Line: Norwegian Aqua

Maiden Voyage: April 26, 2025

NCL’s Norwegian Aqua stands out for its colourful hull

Norwegian Cruise Line is launching its new ship, the Norwegian Aqua, as part of its Prima Plus class. The ship will feature the Aqua Slidecoaster, world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide at sea.

It will also introduce Planterie, the company’s first fully plant-based dining venue. The Norwegian Aqua is 10 pc larger than previous ships in the Prima class, addressing past concerns about space and seating.

According to the company, Norwegian Aqua will also have the highest staffing levels of any new contemporary cruise ship, ensuring a premium experience for passengers.

The ship will offer five and seven-day voyages to Bermuda from New York City starting August 2025 through October 2025 and then cruise five and seven-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries from Miami from October 2025 through April 2026.

Royal Caribbean International: Star of the Seas

Maiden Voyage: August 2025

Royal Caribbean International’s new cruise ship, Star of the Seas, set to debut in 2025, will offer 40 dining spots and bars, a water park, seven pools, and accommodate up to 7,600 persons.

The ship will depart from Central Florida and with itineraries including a weeklong Caribbean vacation, a three-night weekend or four-night weekday getaway to the Bahamas.

Additional highlights of the ship include the Royal Promenade with expansive ocean views, Pearl, the world’s largest kinetic art installation, convenient pick-up windows for sushi and champagne, and an exclusive, ultra-luxurious Suite Neighbourhood.

Star of the Seas, much like its predecessor Icon of the Seas will cater to every type of traveller from families to solo vacationers.

Virgin Voyages: Brilliant Lady

Maiden Voyage: September 2025

Brilliant Lady is an adults-only ship

Virgin Voyages’ fourth adults-only ship, Brilliant Lady, initially slated for 2024, is now set to launch in September 2025 due to construction delays. The ship will feature 1,408 cabins, including solo accommodations and luxury suites which can accommodate more than 2,700 travellers, and will offer a variety of exciting voyages across the United States.

Its itineraries will begin in New York, with sailings to Bermuda and Quebec, before moving to Miami for winter Caribbean cruises, including stops in Aruba and Ocho Rios.

Designed for unique routes such as the Panama Canal and Alaska, Brilliant Lady will expand Virgin’s cruising options, bringing new itineraries to its fleet.

Like its sister ships, Brilliant Lady will offer a non-traditional cruise experience, with fares that include Wi-Fi, gratuities, a basic beverage package, and signature fitness classes.

MSC Cruises: MSC World America

Maiden Voyage: April 12, 2025

MSC World America boats a range of activities onboard

MSC Cruises new ship, MSC World America debuting in April 2025 will feature 22 decks, with unique areas for both relaxation and family fun. The ship will also have an adults-only “zen” zone for peaceful moments, and a “Family Aventura” zone that includes a water park, water slides, and a ropes course. The ship can accommodate upto 5,200 passengers with double occupancy.

Another highlight of MSC World America is the Cliffhanger, first-of-its kind over-water swing that lets guests swing more than 46 m past the side of the ship.

For dining, the ship boasts 13 restaurants, including six specialty options. The ship will also have MSC’s largest Yacht Club, a premium, exclusive area offering a luxury experience within the ship.

Princess Cruises: Star Princess

Maiden Voyage: October, 2025

Star Princess offers exclusive experiences at Sanctuary Club

The third addition to the Princess Cruises’ fleet, Star Princess is all set to embark on its maiden voyage in October next year.

Boasting a capacity of 4,300 passengers, the ship will feature a suite-only Sanctuary Collection which comes with exclusive access to a private restaurant, lounge and the stylish Sanctuary Club. Other highlights include, a sphere of glass offering panoramic views of the ocean and luxurious rooms.

Travellers can now reserve a nine to 21-day cruises to the Greek Isles and Turkey, France and Italy or Greece & Italy or five to 14-day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean or Western Caribbean, seven day cruise to the Alaska Inside Passage.

Oceania Cruises: Oceania Allura

Maiden Voyage: July 2025

Allura to commence sailing in July 2025

The 1,200-passenger Oceania Allura will embark on its inaugural Mediterranean voyage next summer, offering an exclusive sailing experience.

With five specialty restaurants, each reflecting Oceania’s renowned culinary excellence, the ship delivers a refined dining experience that sets it apart.

Oceania Allura emphasises luxury and personalised service, catering to a select group of travellers who seek intimate, high-end journeys.
