With the participation of over 600 delegates from 14 countries, the first-ever Nepal India China Expo (NICE 2025) wrapped up at Pokhara in Nepal, marking a milestone in regional tourism collaboration.

According to a press statement, the organisers of NICE 2025 were PATA Nepal Chapter alongside the Nepal Tourism Board and Pokhara Tourism Council and the event brought together industry leaders to explore opportunities for cross-border tourism, strengthening ties between the three neighbouring nations.

According to the statement, the three-day event brought together over 600 delegates from 14 countries, including more than 100 international participants.

It adds that Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation of Nepal inaugurated the event and highlighted Nepal’s role as a bridge between India and China.

The statement adds that Pandey emphasised government efforts to improve infrastructure, resolve challenges at international airports, address the EU Air Safety ban, streamline visa processes, and enhance tourism services.

It adds that the event featured a business-to-business (B2B) expo on February 25 and 26, where 80 buyer organisations from India and China engaged with 75 sellers. More than 2,100 pre-arranged business meetings took place.

According to organisers the NICE 2025 Conference, focussed on topics such as tourism innovation, China’s outbound tourism, MICE tourism, aviation growth, wellness tourism, and the potential of Indian weddings in Nepal.

It adds that Mitra Lal Basyal, Minister for Industry and Tourism of Gandaki Province, acknowledged the tourism potential of the province.

NICE 2025 marked Pata Nepal’s 50th anniversary and aimed to strengthen Nepal’s position in the tourism sector by leveraging its largest source markets India and China.

It adds that Noor Ahmad Hamid, CEO Pata, stressed the event’s significance in forming strategic alliances.

According to press statement, pre-expo familiarisation trip on February 23 offered international delegates guided itineraries in Pokhara, which was organised by the Nepal Airsports Association and Highground Adventure.

It adds that the inauguration ceremony featured cultural performances from Nepal, India, and China.
