The event concluded with a presentation, a lucky draw and a networking lunch: KTO
Aiming to deepen engagement with India’s travel trade, South Korea’s tourism body, the Korea Tourism Organisation, hosted the Korea MICE Roadshow on June 5 in Mumbai. The event focussed on showcasing Korea’s offerings as a Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination.
In a press statement, KTO says that the roadshow focussed on South Korea’s MICE support programme, group visa facilitation, and convention infrastructure. KTO outlined the Korean MICE Group Visa which provides benefits including visa fee waivers, faster processing and reduced documentation for eligible Indian groups.
It adds that the organisation also presented details of its MICE Support Programme, which includes provisions for souvenirs, destination experiences, gala dinners, performances, charter transport, K-pop booths and K-food trucks. Additionally, the support varied based on group size and requirements, with optional components such as team-building activities, welcome receptions and cultural experiences.
As per the statement, South Korea’s tourism body says the event also included the felicitation of Indian actress and Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism, Hina Khan. She was officially appointed by KTO on May 9 at a ceremony held at the KTO Seoul Centre following a familiarisation trip organised by the organisation to Seoul, Gangwon State and Incheon.
“I am truly grateful to be named the Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism. My recent trip to Korea was eye-opening, from walking through famous K-Drama locations to enjoying thoughtfully prepared vegetarian meals. Korea feels both modern and rooted, and I believe Indian travellers will connect deeply with what it offers. It is a destination that stays with you,” says Khan.
KTO says that the event concluded with a presentation, a lucky draw and a networking lunch.
According to the statement the roadshow provided a platform to build dialogue and partnerships for future Korea-bound group travel from India.
“It was a pleasure to see such strong participation in Mumbai, with over 150 attendees including MICE travel agents, corporates, and media. This level of interest reflects the growing curiosity about Korea as a compelling new destination for business and incentive travel. With our dedicated support programs, we are confident Korea will become a preferred choice for the Indian market,” says Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director, India, SAARC, KTO.
