Indian arrivals to Kazakhstan have soared almost 300 pc in the past year, and in order to further expand the market, Kazakhstan Tourism Board recently held a roadshow in India in Mumbai.
According to a press statement, a delegation led by the Kazakhstan Tourism Board, along with representatives from the country’s tourism industry, presented tourist potential and tour packages to Indian tour operators and the Heads of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) in Mumbai.
This event was organised under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan and supported by the Kazakh Embassy in India. Business to business meetings were held between Indian and Kazakh tour operators.
The statement adds that Indian tourists to Kazakhstan more than tripled by the end of the past year, rising from 19,000 people in 2022 to 54,000 people in 2023.
According to the statement, this substantial increase can be attributed to the availability of regular direct flights between the two countries seven days a week, the introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime for Indian citizens in 2022, and the growing interest in Kazakhstan as a tourist destination.
According to the press statement, earlier this year, Kazakhstan was recognised as the most favoured MICE destination for Indian business tourists for 2023-2024 at the 6th Annual MICE Conference Expo and Awards (TMCEA) in Delhi, India. The tourism board adds that it is a key event in the MICE industry, and a convening ground for leading market representatives to discuss current trends, conduct business meetings, and honour the top performers in the industry.
