Japan tops Asia for searches to Paris, India ranks 5th: Agoda

Japan is followed by South Korea and Hong Kong SAR for top searches

Ahead of the mega sporting event, the Paris Olympics and Paralympics Games, travel booking platform Agoda has reported a rise of 43 pc in searches for stays in Paris in late July and early August. Japan leads the list of Asian nations, followed by South Korea and Hong Kong SAR.

Digital travel platform Agoda has noted 43 pc jump in searches for stays in Paris in late July and early August, as the world’s premier ‘city of love’ becomes the ‘city of sports’ ahead of Paris Olympics and Paralympics that begin on July 26. 

In a press statement, Agoda says that according to an analysis of its accommodation search data in Asia, Japan is the market that tops accommodation searches in Paris from Asia.

Agoda says that Japan is followed by South Korea and Hong Kong SAR from where second and third most searches for Paris originated.  

While Mainland China takes the fourth spot, India rounds up the top five.

The statement adds that Paris is set to host the world’s biggest sporting event later this month, and that seems to have sparked interest from travellers across Asia. 

Agoda adds that the increase in accommodation searches on Agoda’s platform highlights the enthusiasm and anticipation for the events, with many eager to experience the global spectacle firsthand.
