Jamaica Tourist Board has announced that it is all set to host the 3rd Annual Global Tourism Resilience Conference and Expo, taking place from February 17-19, at the luxurious Princess Grand and Princess Senses resorts. More than 200 delegates from across the globe are expected to attend the event.
In a statement, Jamaica Tourist Board says that top experts from around the world will gather in Jamaica to provide insights into rapidly changing landscape for tourism resilience vital for popular tourism developing countries such as India.
“The principles of tourism resilience have guided us in Jamaica and are crucial to our ongoing success. As the global tourism industry continues to grow and change in the face of new challenges and disruptions, it has never been more important to tap into the expertise of leaders and innovators to collaboratively discuss issues that are central to future-proofing travel and tourism worldwide,” says Edmund Bartlett, Founder, the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre (GTRCMC) and Minister of Tourism, Jamaica.
The statement adds that during the first day of the Expo, delegates and participants will interact with the digital transformation of tourism with emphasis on cybersecurity, AI, robots, immersive technologies, and the Metaverse. The second day will highlight coastal tourism resilience and innovations that protect not only India’s vast coastal tourism assets but also its natural and human threats.
The third and last day will feature a high-level ministerial roundtable on digital technologies for resilience and hold a meeting to experience Jamaica’s resilient tourism. It also features several gastronomic events that highlight the rich culinary heritage of Jamaica, as well as various demonstrations of the latest technologies for tourism resilience.
