Jamaica’s tourism sector has generated a record USD 4.3 billion in revenue for 2024, driven by increased visitor arrivals and strategic airline partnerships. The island continues to grow as a global destination through investments in infrastructure, diversified offerings.

In a press statement, Jamaica says it received around 4 million international visitors to the island in 2024, marking a significant increase in tourism.

It adds that the surge in arrivals was driven by enhanced airlift and strategic partnerships with major airlines, which facilitated direct flight routes from key markets to Jamaica.

“We are very pleased with the performance of our tourism sector. Generating  USD 4.3 billion in tourism revenue confirms our resilience, creativity, and the collaborative principles shared among all stakeholders in this sector. We are committed to ensuring that Jamaica remains a premier global destination, with sustainable growth at the heart of our future growth model,” says Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, Jamaica.

According to press statement, Bartlett announced a series of initiatives to collaborate with major international airlines, including Emirates and Saudi Airlines, aiming to boost Jamaica’s tourism visibility and international connectivity.

It adds that the new airline partnerships will introduce more direct flights from major cities in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and India to Jamaica, making it easier for travellers to explore the island. These flights, offered during off-peak times, aim to promote year-round tourism and benefit local communities.

Jamaica says its tourism sector continues to thrive, generating revenue and positioning the island for sustained growth through strategic airline partnerships. Investments in infrastructure, diversified offerings, and a focus on sustainability will enhance visitor experiences and secure tourism’s role in economic prosperity, solidifying Jamaica’s global status.
