Happy Valley, located in Centre County, Pennsylvania, known primarily as the home of Penn State University, is gaining recognition as one of the state’s fastest-growing tourism destinations.

According to a press statement issued by Happy Valley Adventure Board, Happy Valley has climbed six places in Pennsylvania’s hotel revenue rankings, now standing at the 11th position, state-wide, the fastest climb of any region in the state.

The statement adds that in 2024, the city received over 5 million visitors, drawn by the unique blend of collegiate sports, festivals, cultural attractions, and natural beauty. Key drivers behind this growth include ongoing major developments such as the extensive renovations to Beaver Stadium, one of the world’s largest outdoor stadiums, enhancing capacity and fan experience.

Additionally, a new casino is slated to open in April 2026, expected to be a significant draw for visitors. In addition to these projects, 10 new hotel developments are planned over the next five years, increasing room supply and elevating hospitality options, adds the statement.
