“Bali is for sure still the main attraction, main destination. We cannot avoid Bali because of its closeness in history, in religions, in culture and highlights the story of Baliyatra and the story of Hinduism. So, we are not shying away from Bali but since 2022, the embassy, always promoted what we call rich. We want to really focus on not so much of the region, but how to introduce Indonesia,” Ina Krisnamurthi, Ambassador, tells India Outbound.

Earlier, in her speech, she also highlighted during the event the convenience of direct flights by Air India and IndiGo and the streamlined Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) system as key enablers for Indian travellers.

The tourism also highlighted India’s robust economic growth and increasing appetite for international travel making it a critical market for Indonesia.
