German National Tourist Office India is promoting sports tourism in India with the ongoing Euro 2024 championships that commenced on Friday and will take place in 10 host cities across Germany.

With the ongoing Euro 2024 championships, which have seen a record demand for tickets, German National Tourist Office (GNTO) India is inviting Indian football fans to take part in the tournament while also promoting the country’s tourism offerings to Indian travellers.

In a press statement, GNTO says that through its Stay a Little Longer campaign, the board is inviting visitors to discover Germany’s natural beauty and venture outside of football stadiums.

The statement says that during Euro 2024, Germany will host matches in 10 cities, where visitors can explore world-class museums, historical landmarks and scenic riversides, all within easy reach so that soccer fans around the world can look forward to a month-long celebration of the sport in Germany with countless public viewing parties.

GNTO says it encourages visitors to extend their stays, immerse themselves in local cultures and discover Germany’s cultural, natural treasures. The board says that visitors must discover 52 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, industrial heritage, cozy beer gardens and a vibrant nightlife during the summer of football.

This initiative seeks to enrich the visitor experience by encouraging exploration beyond the usual tourist destinations, promoting a more meaningful engagement with all that Germany has to offer.
