France has further eased the entry of travellers from all around the world by doing away with various requirements that had been in place, despite the easing of the Covid-19 pandemic and the reopening of the country to foreign tourists.
According to a press release by Atout France India, the French tourism promotion body in India, with effect from August 1, numerous rules governing the entry of foreign nationals into France do not apply any longer.
One is that travellers do not have any formalities to complete before arriving into mainland or overseas France, and the Covid-19 vaccination certificate is no longer required, irrespective of the country or area of origin.
The country has also done away with the need for visitors to present the proof of a compelling reason for travel. Travellers also no longer need to present a sworn declaration stating that they are not infected with Covid-19 and need not pledge to take an antigen test or biological exam upon arrival into France.
The move is expected to further boost travel into France and comes about five months after another major relaxation for Indian visitors when India was put on the list of ‘Green Countries’ by France after France dropped the exclusion of Covaxin from the list of approved Covid-19 vaccines.
“We are very enthused by these news. We are optimistic that this positive development will encourage more Indians to Explore France in the months to come,” Sheetal Munshaw, Director of Atout France India tells India Outbound on the development.
