Essence of Africa, a travel trade show focussed on Africa, will be organised in Kenya from October 7-9 and organisers say that preparations are in full swing, following a site visit earlier this month.

In a press statement, the organisers say that the international tourism forum will take place at Diamonds Malindi, a lush oceanfront resort on the scenic coast of Kenya, offering a unique blend of coastal charm and natural beauty as the backdrop for this influential gathering.

The statement adds that organised jointly by On Show Solutions and ATTA Events, Essence of Africa is designed to elevate the tourism industry of the continent through impactful meetings between pre-qualified international buyers and Africa’s top travel suppliers.

“Come and do business at the beach! Hosting Essence of Africa at Diamonds Malindi allows us to welcome tourism professionals from around the world to meet on the sand, under the palm trees, with a backdrop of the Indian Ocean,” says Amanda Margison, co-founder of Essence of Africa.

“Essence of Africa is more than a trade show, it is an experience rooted in Malindi’s vibrant coastal charm. We are bringing meaningful business to life in a setting filled with Swahili culture, hidden beach bars, boho boutiques and ancient coastal treasures,” says Chris Mears, co-founder of Essence of Africa.

The organisers say that the event rotates annually across key African destinations, giving each region a platform to showcase its unique offerings. The 2025 Malindi edition will feature up to 38 targetted appointments per participant, connecting 150 buyers with 150 exhibiting companies over three days.

According to the statement, the inaugural edition in Nairobi last year drew participants from 37 countries, including North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Africa, underscoring its global reach and influence.

The organisers say that beyond its core matchmaking programme, Essence of Africa 2025 will offer thought-leadership seminars led by African industry trailblazers, immersive networking events infused with local culture and educational experiences hosted by exhibitors.
