The development of the ‘Therme Dubai’ project, the world’s tallest integrated wellbeing resort, has been approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai who has endorsed the project that is set to be built in Zabeel Park.
According to a press statement by Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism (DET), combining relaxation, leisure, entertainment, healthcare, and natural environments, Therme Dubai highlights Dubai’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors.
The statement adds that besides being the first wellbeing resort and interactive park in the Middle East, Therme Dubai will also be the world’s tallest project of its kind. The project combines relaxation, leisure, entertainment, healthcare, and natural environments.
It adds that the project will be developed in Zabeel Park with Therme Group and will cost an estimated USD 545 million and will be funded by a consortium of local and international partners.
DET says that the new property is expected to be completed by 2028. It adds that the resort will span 50,000 sqm, stand 100 metres tall, and accommodate up to 1.7 million visitors annually.
It further adds that the property will also feature wellness, healthcare, and recreational amenities, including thermal pools, saunas, water slides, and an indoor botanical garden housing over 200 plant species.
It adds that the resort will include three key zones: the Play Zone for family-friendly activities, the Relax Zone for adult wellness and the Restore Zone for rejuvenation treatments.
The statement adds that the design incorporates sustainable engineering, with 90 pc of thermal pool water recycled and 80 pc of fresh air and cooling needs met through clean energy.
It adds that the Therme Dubai aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and aims to contribute to medical tourism by offering health-focussed services.
