The Enterprising Travel Agents’ Association (ETAA), a body representing travel agents, organised a Destination Training Session on Vietnam in Mumbai recently. The training was organised in partnership with Global Destinations, a representation firm.
According to a press statement, with a strong intent to restructure in the post-pandemic era as well as expand and strengthen its national presence, a board meeting of the ETAA was held on the November 26.
The Board Meeting also saw some important appointments, including two new chapter chairmen; Jeevan Hendre for Western Region and Saurab Tuteja for Northern Region respectively. Kaushik Banerjee and Princy K D continue as chairmen for Eastern and Southern regions, adds the statement, that goes on to say that the board has also appointed Abhijeet Khadilkar, former National General Secretary and Dipti Thakoor, former Joint National Secretary as additional Directors. While Khadilkar will look after membership services while Thakoor will be responsible for sponsorship and events in coordination with core teams from each Chapter covering East, West, North & West India.
“We are re-grouping in the post-pandemic scenario and trying to take ETAA forward in our silver jubilee year,” said Carl Dantas, Founder President & Chairman Emeritus, ETAA. “ETAA will celebrate 2023-24 as its silver jubilee year. To mark its 25th year, the association will organize two conventions-domestic and International,” Dantas added.
“This time around we have selected a training programme for Vietnam as it is fast emerging and one of the leading destinations from India. Besides this the country is tourist friendly and also offers value for money to travellers,” says Jagat Mehta, President, ETAA. “We will be doing similar programs for Vietnam in other Regions in association with Global Destinations,’’ he added.
According to the press release, an elaborate destination presentation was given by Global Destinations that represents Threeland Travel, a premier Destination Management Company in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar for over 20 years, delivering high-quality travel packages, value-based travel services and MICE across the region.
“The purpose of this activity was to engage with ETAA members and provide for information on new product offerings serving leisure, luxury, MICE, visa assistance and special event segments. We are confident, to see good uptake for Vietnam and the destination would register a healthy growth in the next 3-4 years in terms of the arrival of Indians,’’ said Pruthvi Khetani, COO, Global Destinations.
