Manoj Awasthi will lead the technology charter of Cleartrip, overseeing engineering, data and infrastructure
Online travel agency, Cleartrip, a subsidiary of e-commerce giant Flipkart, has announced the appointment of Manoj Awasthi as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
In a press statement, Cleartrip says that this strategic move underscores its ambition to strengthen its position as a tech-first travel platform, aiming to make travel planning seamless and intuitive for the modern Indian traveller.
The statement adds that in his new role, Awasthi will lead the technology charter of Cleartrip, overseeing engineering, data and infrastructure. His mandate is to build a more scalable and user-centric platform, leveraging his extensive experience in digital transformation and platform innovation.
According to the statement, Awasthi joins Cleartrip after a successful stint as Chief Technology & Product Officer at Julo, a fintech firm in Indonesia. At Julo, he was instrumental in launching several category-first products, including Julo Turbo for rapid disbursement, Klikilat for one-click transactions and Protect+ for embedded insurance.
The statement adds that he also played a key role in organising the company’s technology and product engineering divisions, focussing on core areas such as infrastructure, security and quality assurance.
