In a major move, Busbud has teamed up with 12 South African transport operators, broadening its network of routes and reinforcing its foothold in the Southern African region for greater travel accessibility.

Montréal-based ground travel booking platform Busbud, has entered into a strategic partnership with 12 transport operators across South Africa, significantly expanding its route offerings and solidifying its presence in the Southern African region.

In a press statement, Busbud says that this partnerships will offer travellers over 70 routes, including popular destinations across Southern Africa, now available for booking through the platform.

It adds that this partnership will help partners expand their online presence, reaching millions of travellers monthly.

Busbud says the new routes highlight its commitment to connecting Southern Africa, with travellers now able to book popular routes online, including Cape Town to Mthatha, Potchefstroom to OR Tambo, Cape Town to East London, Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg to East London, Johannesburg to Harare, and Arusha to Moshi.

It adds that with 12 new partnerships, Busbud strengthens its position as South Africa’s top intercity travel platform, with 24 new shuttle routes, two ferries, and two train services from Impala Shuttle EA, highlighting its focus on diversity and convenience.

Busbud says that the new partners include major national operators like National Express Coachlines, Trans Africa Tours, Two Tours, and Impala Shuttle EA, as well as niche providers such as PotchMyGou, BM Tours, Gxaweni, Mini Mobile, Ramalo, and Imperial Shuttle EA, offering buses, shuttles, ferries, and trains.

The statement adds that through Busbud’s sister brand Ratality, operators can use a suite of B2B products to manage operations more efficiently and expand online sales. Used by over 350 partners globally, the suite offers tools for inventory and revenue management, allowing operators to sell tickets on their own channels, Busbud’s marketplace, and third-party platforms, boosting efficiency and profitability.
