In a significant move to expand its global footprint, Atlys, a leading visa services platform, has acquired Artionis, a UK-based visa services company. Atlys, which has processed over 2 million visas since 2021, now strengthens its presence in the United Kingdom market to bring new expertise to its team.

In a press statement, Atlys says that this acquisition adds 40 specialists to Atlys’ team, with offices in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

It adds that the acquisition of Artionis, known for its exclusive rights to process UK-to-Russia visas, allows Atlys to streamline the visa process by reducing paperwork, providing more accurate approval timelines, and cutting down application times.

Atlys says that the company plans to double its United Kingdom workforce to 80 employees by the end of 2025 to cater to a growing traveller base in the country, where 36 pc of the population holds non-UK passports or uses self-service visa solutions.

It adds that Atlys intends to digitise Artionis’s traditional processes, making them more efficient and online-focused, while eliminating unnecessary steps to save time and costs for travellers.

The statement adds that in 2024, Atlys expanded into the United Arab Emirates, addressing the needs of the expatriate population. The company, backed by Elevation Capital and Peak XV, sees significant opportunity in the global travel market, which is projected to exceed USD 9 trillion by 2023, with international arrivals expected to reach 1.8 billion by 2030.
