Cleartrip, says a total of 39 pc of all bookings made up to October 15 were for Diwali
Denpasar, the capital city and main hub of the Indonesian province of Bali, has seen a bump in bookings for the forthcoming Diwali vacation, says a report published by online travel agency, Cleartrip.
In a press statement, Cleartrip says that peak international bookings for Denpasar for the Diwali season have risen 4.24 pc this year as compared to the last year, adding that the demand has risen, even as there has a marginal decline of 0.5 pc in airfares for Denpasar from Mumbai.
Cleartrip says that for the upcoming Diwali vacation for travel from October 26 to November 4, a total of 39 pc of all bookings made up to October 15 were for Diwali.
The OTA says that there has been a 0.16 pc overall spike in YoY air booking from Mumbai. The airfares for Diwali bookings from Mumbai have seen a 0.7 pc decrease this Diwali season.
The statement adds that Singapore has seen 1.16 pc rise in bookings with 0.39 pc decline in airfares.
Thailand-capital Bangkok with 1.85 pc booking rise year on year surge was the most preferred international destination on the list while Denpasar and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates followed as second and third most preferred with nearly 5 pc and 1 pc rise in bookings respectively.
Singapore and Thai city of Phuket round off top five on the list, Cleartrip says.
Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, Sri Lankan capital Colombo, UAE capital Abu Dhabi, Japanese capital Tokyo and Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, consequently make up the top 10 international destinations, it adds.
