Nearly 17 million users globally had used the toggle since its introduction
In a significant move to enhance pricing transparency, short-term rental giant Airbnb, has made total price display a default feature worldwide. Guests will now see the complete cost of a stay, including service fees but excluding taxes, directly in search results, aiming to simplify price comparisons and improve the overall booking experience.
In a press statement, Airbnb says that the update ends a two-year transition period during which guests could opt into total price visibility through a toggle.
It adds that nearly 17 million users globally had used the toggle since its introduction.
Airbnb says that this move aims to make pricing comparisons more straightforward and eliminate confusion around hidden costs.
