KTO hosted the Korea Tourism Roadshow in Delhi in collaboration with Travel Agents Association of India

After a 44 pc rise in number of Indian visitors to South Korea last year, Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) hosted the Korea Tourism Roadshow in Delhi, with the objective to attract 250,000 Indian tourists this year.

South Korea saw a 44 pc rise in Indian tourist arrivals in 2024, reaching 176,668 visitors compared to the previous year. To strengthen trade ties and further boost outbound travel, Korea Tourism Organisation hosted the Korea Tourism Roadshow in Delhi, highlighting initiatives aimed at facilitating seamless travel and enhancing engagement with the Indian travel industry.

In a press statement, KTO says it hosted the Korea Tourism Roadshow in Delhi recently, in collaboration with Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), to strengthen engagement with the Indian travel trade.

It adds that the event comes at a time when Indian tourism to South Korea has witnessed remarkable growth from 2023.

KTO says that the roadshow provided a platform to introduce KTO’s latest trade-focussed initiatives, including the Korea Premium Travel Consultant (KPTC) programme, K-Incentive Scheme 3.0, and MICE support programmes, designed to enhance outbound travel, and facilitate seamless access to South Korea for Indian travellers.

It adds that the event introduced KTO’s latest initiatives, including the Korea Premium Travel Consultant (KPTC) programme, K-Incentive Scheme 3.0 and MICE support programmes, aimed at expanding outbound travel and facilitating seamless access to South Korea.

The statement adds that the KPTC programme is a certification initiative for travel agents specialising in premium travel to Korea. It offers structured training on luxury experiences, enabling agents to curate high-mend itineraries.

It adds that certified members receive ongoing training, direct KTO support, and exclusive rewards. To qualify, agents must attend at least three of four training sessions between February and March and create luxury travel packages aligned with South Korea’s premium offerings.

“India continues to be a key market for South Korea and we are thrilled to witness such impressive growth in arrivals. As we move forward, our target for 2025 is to welcome 18.5 million global visitors, including 250,000 from India. Through initiatives like KPTC and the K-Incentive Scheme 3.0, we aim to empower our partners with enhanced resources, exclusive benefits, and greater opportunities to promote South Korea as a top travel destination,” says Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director,  India and SAARC Countries, KTO.
