Beyond travel deals and brochures, the exhibition is a hub for industry innovation
The 26th Travel Expo Cyprus is all set to open on April 25 in Nicosia, Cyprus, a tiny European island nation in the Mediterranean Sea.
According to a press statement, the event will be hosted at the Cyprus State Fair Grounds and will bring together key players from the tourism sector, including airlines, tour operators, hotels and national delegations from seven countries.
The statement adds that the expo arrives at a time of unprecedented demand for travel, with early forecasts suggesting nearly two million outbound trips by Cypriots in 2025, a new record for the island.
Charis Papacharalambous
“The expo offers travellers a rare chance to compare packages, talk to professionals and take advantage of exclusive offers, all in one place. This is the kind of event where people don’t just browse destinations, they book and they get real value,” says Charis Papacharalambous, President of the Association of Cyprus Travel and Tourist Agents (ACTTA).
Papacharalambous adds that the association is looking closely at how to tackle this (not clear). “It is a matter of consumer protection. The later you leave it, the fewer your options and the higher the price. That is just how the market works,” he says.
Moreover, visitors to the expo can explore a diverse range of destinations, from fellow Mediterranean favourites like Greece, Italy, Spain, France and Portugal to Switzerland and long-haul options such as Thailand, Japan, the United States, India and Poland.

Scandinavian countries Sweden and Finland are also featured, reflecting the event’s growing international scope.
The statement adds that additionally, beyond travel deals and brochures, the exhibition is a hub for industry innovation. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in workshops and demonstrations on the latest travel technologies, sustainability practices and digital marketing trends, key themes as the sector adapts to changing consumer demands and global challenges.

“Cyprus is on track for a strong year, with over 4 million tourist arrivals and revenues topping EUR 3 billion, a 7.3 pc increase on last year. The island is seeing visitors year-round now, not just in summer, with more interest in niche experiences and agrotourism. It is not just about beaches anymore. People want something real and Cyprus delivers that,” says Annita Demetriadou, Deputy Minister of Tourism and President of the Cyprus Agrotourism Company (KEA).
