Wyndham expanded globally in 2024, growing in the United Kingdom, India, Türkiye and Mexico
In a significant move to enhance its presence in India, luxury hospitality firm Wyndham Hotels and Resorts announced an exclusive agreement to introduce its Microtel brand. The company aims to open 40 Microtel hotels by 2031, further strengthening its portfolio and expanding its footprint in key international markets.
In a press statement, the Wyndham says that it has strengthened its presence in India, introducing new brands and expanding its footprint in key markets across the country.
It adds that Wyndham expanded globally in 2024, growing in the United Kingdom, India, Türkiye and Mexico.
The statement adds that the hotel company aims to strengthen its portfolio by introducing new upscale and lifestyle brands while enhancing its digital infrastructure to optimise operations for hotel owners and improve guest experiences.
It further adds that Wyndham reported steady global growth in 2024, introducing WaterWalk Extended Stay by Wyndham as its 25th brand and launching Wyndham Residences in the United States.
Wyndham says that the first Echo Suites Extended Stay by Wyndham properties opened, with early locations reaching occupancy rates of 80 pc within weeks. The brand now accounts for 14 pc of Wyndham’s development pipeline.
It adds that Wyndham also partnered with SBE to launch HQ Hotels & Residences under Registry Collection Hotels, with its first location opening in Antigua this quarter.
It further adds that Wyndham expanded its OwnerFirst initiative with new tools to boost franchisee revenue. The company introduced Wyndham Connect, an AI-powered platform for automated messaging, upselling, mobile check-in/out, and digital tipping, now used by 2,000 North American hotels seeing revenue growth.
The statement says that Wyndham also revamped its Wyndham Business platform, launching Wyndham Rewards Business to simplify corporate travel management. Additionally, its Bold by Wyndham and Women Own the Room initiatives continue supporting underrepresented hotel owners with mentorship and financing, leading to over 100 deals and nearly 40 operational hotels.

It adds that Wyndham also expanded its Wyndham Rewards programme, now offering over 60,000 redemption options across hotels, vacation resorts, and rentals. It introduced Wyndham Travel Packages, enabling members to book hotels, flights, car rentals, and activities in one transaction.
According to a study by McKinsey, a consultancy, global travel spending reached its highest level since 1960, driven by a shift in consumer preferences toward experiences. The US Travel Association forecasts a 4 pc rise in domestic travel spending to USD 1.35 trillion in 2025, while Skift Research projects a 9 pc increase in global travel expenditure. The International Air Transport Association estimates global air travel will hit a record 5.2 billion passengers this year, a 7 pc increase from 2024.
