Spanish hotel chain Riu Hotels and Resorts, which is the only Spanish hotel in Mauritius, is all set to launch two new properties Riu Palace Mauritius and Riu Turquoise in the destination with a total of 700 rooms.

Riu Hotels and Resorts will be launching two new properties in Mauritius, in the foothills of Le Morne Brabant.

According to a press statement by the hotel, the Riu Palace Mauritius is the first Riu Palace hotel opening in this destination. The statement adds that it is a four-star adults only hotel with the new exclusive Elite Club service.

However, the statement adds that the other property, also a four-star, Riu Turquoise, is a hotel ideal for a family holiday thanks to its wide variety of services and dining options.

Riu says that its project consisted of demolishing the two previous hotels to have a total of 700 rooms with 2,418 solar panels. The hotels are practically self-sufficient, as the solar panels will occasionally be able to supply 100 pc of the electricity the hotels need and will cover a significant portion of the supply at other times of day, the statement adds.

It says that the Riu Palace Mauritius features 310 rooms with terrace restaurant “La Riviere,” Asian restaurant “Kaori” and the gourmet “Krystal,” song with five bars. Outside the hotel, there are two pools, one with a swim-up bar.

The statement adds that Riu Turquoise has 390 rooms, designed for both families and couples. The restaurant include “La Gaulette”, Indian restaurant “Bangalore” and the Steakhouse, for grill lovers. They also have five bars to choose from: the lobby bar “Savanne” the saloon “Sega”, shared with Riu Palace Mauritius, the Sports Bar, the pool bar “Lagoon” and “Pepe’s Food” grill.
