Radisson Hotel Group has announced that it will set up the first Radisson Collection property in Madrid. In a press statement, the hospitality group says that the iconic hotel will be located on Alcala Street, one of Madrid’s most prominent avenues in the prestigious Canalejas area, surrounded by renowned luxury brands such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Cartier.

It adds that the heritage-protected classical building will undergo a transformative redevelopment to become a mixed-use masterpiece, combining premium retail spaces on the ground floor with 154 rooms and suites spanning across 10 floors and a fantastic rooftop providing breathtaking views over the city. The renovation is expected to last two years and the hotel will open in 2027.

The statement adds that the property’s unique location provides proximity to Madrid’s cultural and historical treasures, including Puerta del Sol, the Cibeles Fountain, National Museum El Prado, Plaza Mayor and El Retiro Park.

“With a spectacular location, the arrival of our lifestyle luxury Radisson Collection brand in Madrid will be a catalyst to accelerate the development of Radisson Hotel Group in Spain, where we currently have eight hotels in operation and now this landmark project under development, as well as some others that we will announce soon. We are proud to debut this project alongside Generali, a strategic partner of the Group with whom we have already collaborated in Rome and Venice. This will be an iconic hotel in Madrid and a privileged destination for both local and international guests,” says Federico J González, Executive Vice Chairman, Radisson Hotel Group.

The statement adds that the hotel will come equipped with a selection of high-end amenities, including a signature restaurant and bar on the first level, Lyon Bar, a stunning rooftop bar and restaurant on the 13th floor with sweeping city views, a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness centre and a spa. The ground floor will include various stores, providing an exclusive shopping experience.

Radisson says that this project, developed in collaboration with the prestigious Lamela architecture studio, promises to become a benchmark of luxury and sophistication in the Spanish capital. The design will honour the building’s historical architecture while offering the bespoke, renowned Radisson Collection modern luxury.
