Belgium-based hospitality group Radisson Hotels has added to its footprint in Sri Lanka with the opening of the Radisson Collection Resort, a beachfront resort in the historic city of Galle in southern Sri Lanka.

In a press statement, Radisson Hotels says that the Galle property is the group’s fourth hotel in Sri Lanka and its second in Galle. It also marks this luxury lifestyle brand’s inaugural hotel in the Southeast Asia & Pacific (SEAP) region.

The statement adds that the city of Galle is an exquisite setting for this high-end, highly experiential Radisson Collection brand. Long stretches of soft sand such as Unawatuna Beach set the scene for endless days of serenity and exhilarating water sports, while the old city is centred around the 17th century Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Curious explorers can also discover the local wildlife with visits to the sea turtle hatchery or safaris in the lush forests or immerse themselves in Sri Lankan culture amid ancient temples and colonial architecture.

The statement adds that the resort has 70 rooms and 36 suites, adorned with bright, contemporary interiors, complete connectivity and breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean through panoramic windows. The property also boasts a 1,200 sqm Grand Penthouse that features five bedrooms, a spiral staircase and an infinity pool. It says that clients can spend memorable days relaxing at the beachfront pool while children will be inspired and entertained at the kids’ club, with a dedicated soft play zone including interactive features for imaginative play.
