“We are extremely proud to open Park Hyatt Johannesburg, extending the legacy of the Park Hyatt brand to Rosebank. Our team is dedicated to offering deeply personalised service and thoughtfully curated experiences, delivered with meticulous attention to detail and the essence of modern luxury hospitality in every interaction,” says Mitch Gemmell, General Manager, Park Hyatt Johannesburg.
The statement adds that housed in a stately 1930s mansion, Park Hyatt Johannesburg pays homage to the city’s architectural heritage, blending classical and contemporary styles inspired by renowned architect Herbert Baker.
Hyatt says that the hotel’s restoration preserves original features, graceful arches, high ceilings and wide verandahs, while introducing modern luxury. At its heart lies a tranquil open-air courtyard, shaded by a majestic jacaranda tree and surrounded by sculpted gardens and a heated pool.
It adds that the property features 31 rooms and suites, each designed to maximise natural light and garden views. Select rooms offer private patios, while interiors boast plush linens, marble bathrooms, and curated South African artwork celebrating the region’s diverse biospheres.
Additionally, with flexible event spaces for up to 60 persons, Park Hyatt Johannesburg is set to become a premier destination for intimate gatherings and celebrations, blending heritage, luxury and contemporary South African culture in perfect harmony.
