Indian luxury hotel group Oberoi will open its first hotel in London at the upscale Mayfair locality in central London. Construction of property is likely to be completed by 2027.

After an aborted attempt four years ago, luxury Indian hotel group Oberoi has finally decided to open its first London property at the upscale Mayfair area in central London that is home to exclusive residences, top hotels and corporate offices.

According to a press statement by Grosvenor, the property development firm, and EIH London Investments, a subsidiary of the East India Hotels, the owner of the Oberoi Group.

The statement adds that the Oberoi Group will open a hotel on the corner of Brook Street in Mayfair, as part of the wider South Molton development.

The mixed use project will also feature housing, cafes, shops, restaurants, community and leisure spaces, and two office buildings across Brook Street and Davies Street, east of Grosvenor Square, near Bond Street Underground station.

The construction began on the Brook Street site in November 2023, with scheduled completion by the end of 2027.

The Oberoi Group already operates 10 properties overseas, including three in Egypt, two each in Indonesia and the UAE and one each in Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Mauritius. The Group is also reportedly hunting for locations in New York and in Paris for future hotels.
