Bangkok-based luxury hotel owner Minor Hotel Group has launched its latest luxury offering Anantara brand in Trojena, an exclusive year round mountain resort in Neom, as part of the development of its premium Anantara brand into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This first outdoor ski resort for the Gulf of Aqaba will be located at Trojena, which is in the centre of Neom, about 80 km from the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba and has a high elevation of up to 2,600 metres.

In a press statement, Minor Hotels says that the Trojena will host prestigious sporting events, art exhibitions, concerts, and cultural festivals.

It adds that with its centralised location, mountainous terrain, and natural surroundings, Trojena will redefine luxury living and travel options as a universal haven of well-being. The strategic location will also be fueled by renewable energy like the rest of Neom while responsibly preserving the area’s unique cultural and environmental legacy.

The hotel says that the 270-key Anantara resort will offer a selection of guest rooms and suites, including some with private pools, and all with spectacular lake or mountain views. Dining options will include two specialty restaurants, an all-day dining restaurant with a show kitchen, a café and high tea lounge, in addition to a rooftop majlis café.

“We are thrilled to announce that a luxury Anantara property will soon be under development in the incredibly exciting new destination of Trojena, part of Neom. Trojena is the perfect location for Anantara to bring its heartfelt hospitality and trademark take on authentic, indigenous luxury and we look forward to working with the team at Neom to bring this new property to fruition within this aspirational new destination,” says Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels.

The hotel says that the facility will be home to a plethora of amenities, curating unique travel experiences for discerning travellers with a diverse range of interests. These include a fitness centre, an Anantara Spa with separate male and female wet areas and treatment rooms as well as numerous hammams, a spectacular infinity pool with views of the lake and mountains, a stargazing deck, an outdoor movie theatre, kids and teen clubs, and a sports and activity pavilion with a variety of activities like padel tennis, camel and horseback riding, as well as guided walks around the lake and mountain area. Meeting and event facilities will draw corporate and special events, and it will have its own on-site helipad for helicopter access.

The Anantara resort will be located in the Water Village, part of the Valley Cluster of Trojena. Currently under construction, the valley is a coveted Trojena suburb that will include three complexes and a 2.8 km long artificial freshwater lake as its centrepiece. The Water Village, a luxurious and opulent resort-living destination, will offer elite residential, hospitality, and commercial experiences and feature numerous shopping and dining choices.
