The project is being developed in partnership with Grupo Petra
Minor Hotels, a Thai hospitality company that owns or operates over 560 properties in 58 countries, is set to debut in Paraguay with an NH Collection hotel in Asunción. Part of a large-scale mixed-use development, the project aims to become an architectural landmark in the city, integrating hospitality with residences, offices, and commercial spaces.
In a press statement, Minor Hotels says that the project, set to open in 2029, will be part of a large-scale mixed-use real estate development.
It adds that the project is being developed in partnership with Grupo Petra, a leading real estate firm in Paraguay. The estimated investment ranges between USD 8 million and USD12 million, with an expected creation of 35 to 40 direct jobs.
It further adds that hotel is located on Avenida Santa Teresa, near Avenida Aviadores del Chaco and will be integrated into a complex of more than 70 floors, making it the tallest building in Asunción and the fourth tallest in South America.
The statement adds that the development will include residences, offices, commercial spaces, and parking.
It adds that the NH Collection Asunción will feature 80 rooms, catering to both business and leisure travellers. It will offer amenities such as a spa, pool, restaurant, bar, terrace, heliport, and meeting rooms.

According to the statement, Minor Hotels’ decision to expand into Paraguay follows market analysis indicating sustained growth in corporate and leisure tourism. Asunción has also become a hub for events and conventions, further driving demand for upscale hotels.
It adds that the company is also evaluating opportunities in secondary cities across Paraguay while continuing expansion in Latin America, particularly in Chile, Argentina and Peru.
It further adds that the NH Collection Asunción will be developed under Minor Hotels’ strategy of expanding through hotel management and franchise models, focusing on emerging markets. Construction is set to begin in the coming months, with an estimated opening in 2029.
“We are confident that, together with Grupo Petra, we will make this hotel a benchmark in Asunción, a city with great dynamism and growth potential.
